The Republican Party, 1854-2016

Evan McMullinMeet Evan McMullin.

Evan is sick and tired of the choices America will face in the November election, so members of the GOP establishment have recruited him to run as an independent presidential candidate.

Since many deadlines have passed, McMullin can only appear on about half the states, so his candidacy does nothing but assure a Hillary Clinton presidency.

Evan McMullin, a Central Intelligence Agency veteran and former chief policy director of the House Republican Conference, is expected to announce an independent presidential bid on Monday, according to multiple reports.

Yet McMullin, who served for two years as chief policy director at the House Republican Conference, would seem to have little chance of garnering enough attention to truly challenge Trump or Clinton.

Scarborough said the independent presidential candidate would aim to get on 20 to 30 state ballots, adding that he personally thinks the campaign “has more to do with stopping Donald Trump than actually electing a president.” (H/TAOSHQ)

Of course it does. This is the GOP establishment’s middle finger to conservative voters. Most of these people couldn’t care less if Hillary Clinton wins the presidency, because their power is forever secure.

It is my sincere hope this signals the death knell for the Republican Party. The GOP in its present form needs to be destroyed, and a legitimate, viable third party needs to rise from its ashes.

  1. I agree wholeheartedly, Wyatt. This is definitely the elites letting “we the people” know we don’t matter and haven’t for a very long time. How dare we defy their grand plans and not buckle like the democrat electorate. For all the GOP bigwigs maneuvering, the people didn’t want Jeb, Marco or Ted. Live with it; deal with it. Heaven knows the elites expect us to be good little sheeple and follow their lead. Not this time Grand Old Party. It is time for you to pack up and go away.

  2. Metoo – I heartily endorse that statement, and the GOP can crash and burn this November for all I care. The country is doomed, and the GOP did this to us.
