Walmart is apologizing to a Georgia police officer’s daughter after refusing to decorate a retirement cake with the thin blue line. Apparently the police logo is racist, because reasons.
The police officer’s daughter, who has remained anonymous, told radio host Todd Starnes that she went to a Walmart in McDonough, Georgia on Thursday to ask for a cake with the American flag in black and white with a blue stripe added in.
But one of the employees at the bakery balked at the common police officer emblem, telling the woman “the design could be perceived as racist and nobody feels comfortable decorating the cake,” she recounted to Starnes. When she asked for a simpler cake, with just one blue line on a chocolate background, the employee said she didn’t “feel comfortable” with that design either.
A Walmart spokesperson said in a statement the company regretted the incident: “Our goal is to always take care of customers. But sometimes we misstep.”
Gee, ya think? An animosity toward police officers has always existed in this country, but since the current “president” was elected, the hatred has grown exponentially. Police officers are racist, police logos are racist… pretty soon the word “police” will be racist. It would be hilarious if it wasn’t so tragic.
They should have looked those morons in the eye and asked them, if tomorrow you call 9-1-1 and the police officer who takes the call decides he doesn’t feel like ‘serving and protecting’ you, who you gonna call?

Proof – “Sorry, we’re ‘uncomfortable’ responding to the Walmart.”

Maybe you could give them Al Sharpton’s number as a consolation prize?

This whole thing becomes more absurd with each passing day. I agree with Trump….if you won’t even say the words “law and order” you have no business being president.

Of course the word police is racist. It has “ice” in it and those folks kick people out of the country. Damn, I could become a reporter for NBC.

Wyatt I did not know what that flag was about, when I first saw it made me angry. I thought “Why did they change the colors”. I pass a house every day that flies that flag. Now I will be glad to see it.
Thanks for the knowledge.

Too bad ethical, hard working, honest cops will continue to respond to calls at Walmart. It’s what we do. We don’t have the choice to deny them service. I do have the ability to shop elsewhere, and will no longer patronize these stores.

Metoo – If you say one thing to black groups, and another to police, you don’t deserve to be president.
Ingineer – The next Lester Holt!
Spadi3 – Welcome. Some of them modify the American flag, which I’m not a huge fan of, but the actual logo looks like this. Many cops have them as front license plates.
AV – Agreed. All these people who spew bile our way will still get service, because unlike them, we’re professionals.
