FOIA Proves Obama Lied About Benghazi

benghazi-attack-bloody-handprintsJudicial Watch submitted a Freedom of Information Request for telephone transcripts from the Department of State the day of the Benghazi terrorist attack. The results will surprise, but not shock you.

Judicial Watch today released 54 pages of new State Department documents, including a transcript of a September 12 2012, telephone conference call with congressional staffers in which then-Under Secretary of State for Management Patrick Kennedy admitted that the deadly terrorist assault on the Benghazi Consulate was not “under cover of protest,” but was, in fact, “a direct breaching attack.”

Remember, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Susan Rice, and a multitude of other Obama flunkies assured us the attack was initiated by a YouTube video. The creator of the video was subsequently arrested and spent nine months in federal prison for a “probation violation.” All because of a lie.

There is more below the fold…

The transcript was posted on the Judicial Watch site, and it confirms what most of us knew after the first week. This attack had nothing to do with a video, and Hillary Clinton lied to the families of the four Americans killed that day.

The transcript was contained in an email from Julie K. Bulgrin, the State Department Bureau of Legislative Affairs director for Global and Functional Affairs:

*Rob Carter – was this an attack under the cover of a protest?
*No, this was a direct breaching attack.
*Do we have any ideas of who launched? Leads?
*Some claims from someone who has never made threat before, but everyone is looking at this closely.
*Do we believe coordinated w/Cairo?
*Attack in Cairo was a demonstration. There were no weapons shown or used. A few cans of spray paint.

Well they probably were using the spray paint to rally against the obscure video no one saw.

“This document removes any further doubt that the State Department and the Obama administration knew immediately after the assault on Benghazi that it was a well-orchestrated terrorist attack and not a ‘spontaneous demonstration’ over a ‘hateful video,’ as the Obama administration repeatedly claimed,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “These documents show that the Benghazi scandal is not over … not by a long shot.” (H/TAOSHQ)

I’d like to believe that, but I have no confidence anyone will ever be held accountable for their actions, which included leaving four Americans to die at the hands of Islamic terrorists.

By the way, say what you want about Michael Bay, but his film “13 Hours” was very good. It’s worth a watch.

  1. I have often said that there are three scandals surrounding the incident at Benghazi:
One, why was there inadequate security after repeated requests to increase it?
Two, why was there no response to the requests for help during thee attack?
Three, the cover up and lies.

And yes, 13 Hours is a great movie. A fitting testament to the bravery of those who were there.

    1. I remember a guy calling in a few days after the attack calling bullshit on the claim that they couldn’t have responded, he was part of an extreamus (sic) force that had just rotated out of the area. He enumerated the chain of command, that all calls were logged and that someone had to have called the forced back or they would have been there. He said that the minimum F-16s could have buzzed the compound and bought some time, and they were also called back. Everyone should be charged, tried, and hung…I guess in that order.

      1. There was one ABC reporter who got Obama to say that “…the minute I found out what was happening, I gave three very clear directives. Number one, make sure that we are securing our personnel and doing whatever we need to. Number two, we’re going to investigate exactly what happened so that it doesn’t happen again. Number three, find out who did this so we can bring them to justice.”

He never gave any details of exactly what orders he gave or to whom, or why they were never carried out. I suspect he was just lying through his teeth, to make himself sound like a competent C-in-C and a decent human being. He went 0 for 2.

  2. Mike – And Kennedy lied when he said there was not enough time to get help there. He claimed the attack lasted 4.5 hours. He was only off by eight and a half.

    1. Besides, you only know how long an attack is going to last until it’s over, not at the beginning. It would be like calling 9-1-1 and having the dispatcher tell you your problem isn’t going to last long enough for them to bother sending anyone. Totally irresponsible.

      1. They were also viewing the attack in real time through drone footage. You’d think someone would have sent help, but this was the Obama administration…

        1. The weasels couldn’t admit it was a terrorist attack. It was an election year and their narrative was bin Laden’s dead and al Qaeda’s on the run. Plus, there was a possibility that the attackers had shoulder fired missiles. Obama couldn’t afford the possibility of an incident that would show what a house of cards his foreign policy was, and what an incompetent fraud he is.

  3. Rob – “What difference, at this point, does it make?”

Mike – They couldn’t send air cover, and Bill Clinton couldn’t send armor in Mogadishu. It’s a disturbing trend.
