Syria Receives A Gift By Airmail

President Trump the launch of over fifty Tomahawk missiles at a Syrian military installation. The order was given in retaliation for Bashar al-Assad’s use of chemical weapons.

The United States launched dozens of cruise missiles Thursday at a Syrian airfield in response to what it believes was Syria’s use of banned chemical weapons that killed at least 100 people.

Two U.S. warships in the Mediterranean Sea fired 59 Tomahawk missiles intended for a single target — Ash Sha’irat in Homs province in western Syria. That’s the airfield from which the United States believes the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad fired the banned weapons.

There was no immediate word on casualties. U.S. officials [said] people were not targeted and that aircraft and infrastructure at the site were hit, including the runway and gas fuel pumps.

While I am all for punishing the murderous Assad, the players in this civil war are equally unsavory. Assad is backed by Putin, and the “resistance” is reportedly in bed with ISIS. In my opinion, an escalation in Syria would be a mistake.

  1. Huge mistake that all the Trump haters will run with screaming “We told you so! The man is crazy”. There is no winning side in Syria. Sad and true.

  2. I think this is the opening salvo of Assad’s departure from the scene. Next will be Special Forces “escort” for Assad to “exile”.

  3. Checking Obama’s First Rule of Arab Spring, it appears that whenever an Islamic despot is overthrown, a progressively more tyrannical despot takes his place. At least Assad keeps the other side in check. I hate to think what they plan if/when they take his place. Working with, for, around, nearby, or otherwise any other position with the ragheaded horde is always a big mistake. Get Hannibal and all his elephants and just go close the door to Europe and be done with these miscreants.

  4. I figure Assad will either end up enjoying the high life with Edward Snowden in Russia or spending time with Assange in the Ecuadorian embassy.

  5. Cathy – Trump sent a message to Syria and the rest of the world. There is no need to put boots on the ground there.

Mike – And by “exile,” you mean burial at sea?

RG – This will be like Libya. Sure Qaddafi was a monster, but ISIS is worse. Assad is a war criminal, but someone else can take him out.

Metoo – While hacking into Jennifer Lawrence’s naked selfies.

    Mike – Nicely done.
