President Trump held a “bipartisan” conference about the country’s alleged gun problem yesterday, and during the discussion, the president wavered on the silly notion of due process.
President Trump on Wednesday voiced support for confiscating guns from certain individuals deemed to be dangerous, even if it violates due process rights.
“I like taking the guns early, like in this crazy man’s case that just took place in Florida … to go to court would have taken a long time,” Trump said at a meeting with lawmakers on school safety and gun violence. “Take the guns first, go through due process second,” Trump said.
Trump was responding to comments from Vice President Pence that families and local law enforcement should have more tools to report potentially dangerous individuals with weapons.
I’ve been a loyal Trump supporter since he earned the GOP nomination, but this kind of nonsensical blather completely loses me. Instead of threatening to curb Americans’ second and fourth amendment rights, how about we address the numerous, unheeded warnings received by the Broward County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI? The kid was a known threat, and law enforcement did nothing.
I do find it interesting no one blamed the pressure cooker during the Boston Marathon bombing, and no one blamed the airliners during 9-11, but when there’s a mass shooting, everyone blames the gun.
Looks like he’s getting his talking points from the same kids who were eating Tide pods last month.
But he still beats the heck out of who would have been President, had the media gotten their way.

I’m always figuring whatever Trump says is part of “The Art of the Deal” but this time, I don’t see the long game here at all. I guess it’s no big deal if we violate a few rights here and there, especially of those people we decide are evil. Eventually, they’ll do things like read this blog, track us down, and determine we’re all evil too. Far fetched, but it makes the point.

He’s just pandering to the media and to moms. Sad, but predictable during an election year.

It makes me crazy when he comes out with lines like these. The media stops focusing on the economy and goes back to impeachment talk or cleaning up in 2018 election. We also aren’t hearing about the stupid Schiff memo which verified the GOP memo.

In the picture you see Dianne Feinstein grinning like an idiot over what Trump is saying about gun control. This should worry every Second Amendment supporter. I heard Chuck Schumer today talking how this is the best time to get gun control passed. I think this is because they believe they can roll Trump on this issue.

RG – The question is why now? No one rushed forward with this nonsense after Vegas. Is it just “for the chidrens,” because no conservatives were clamoring to violate civil rights before.
William – Eh, maybe; but maybe he’s serious.
Ronni – Because the MSM has an embargo on it. No matter what the president says or does, he won’t get any credit; so why bother pandering?
Mike – I’m starting to believe it, too. It’s worrisome. Worse still, everyone is so worried about gun control, and no one is worrying about school safety. They shout down suggestions about armed teachers, but also about improving security measures.

Wyatt, if democrats were truly, “for the children,” they wouldn’t insist that taxpayer money be spent on Planned Parenthood every year. They could take that money and protect children at schools instead of killing them in the womb.
