It’s amazing what happens when a Republican calls out Democrat wrongdoing, instead of, say, sitting idly by and twiddling your thumbs.

President Trump repeatedly called for former FBI Director James Comey to be jailed for his handling of classified information and potentially lying to Congress in a string of tweets Sunday. Excerpts from Comey’s upcoming book, A Higher Loyalty, which will be released on Tuesday, sparked the tweets.

“The big questions in Comey’s badly reviewed book aren’t answered like, how come he gave up Classified Information (jail), why did he lie to Congress (jail), why did the DNC refuse to give Server to the FBI (why didn’t they TAKE it), why the phony memos, McCabe’s $700,000 & more?” Trump tweeted.

Earlier in the morning, Trump slammed Comey for taking into account the polling in the 2016 election when deciding if he should notify Congress of the additional emails found on disgraced former Rep. Anthony Weiner’s computer in October 2016. Democrats widely blame Comey deciding to reopen the investigation into Clinton’s emails 11 days before the election for costing her the race.

I’m sure principled politicians like John McCain and Lindsey Graham caught a case of the vapors after seeing this. Lord knows “true conservatives” are supposed to furrow their brows at those who call out criminals, while simultaneously excusing their crimes.
