President Trump Sending Troops To Border

Imagine a sitting American president upholding the law and protecting our borders from foreign invaders. Some of those deployed will be U.S. Marines.

The US will deploy 5,000 troops to the southern border in response to the thousands of Central American migrants headed to America — up from the initial estimate of 800.

The troops will be sent to Texas, Arizona and California and will likely staff ports of entry, at least in the early phases of the military mission, officials told the Wall Street Journal.

The Pentagon has dubbed the mission — which comes amid the midterm elections — Operation Faithful Patriot. It’s expected that most will serve until mid-December, a Pentagon official said.

About 1,800 troops will be sent to Texas, 1,700 to Arizona and 1,500 to California, according to the latest plans.

Judging by my four days is beautiful Texas, the president could divert those troops to Arizona in favor of something better: armed Texans.

  1. My thoughts exactly, Wyatt. The Texans I know could definitely take care of any immigration issues. But now the Prez has gotten the left’s panties all in a bunch over eliminating birthright citizenship. These are issues that should have been addressed along ago. People have been having “anchor babies” for decades!!

  2. I guess if they go to the border with New Mexico, they can get right in. New Mexico residents aren’t going to all rush out to stop them. Half that state or more is as blue as one can be.

  3. As long as the troops aren’t hamstrung with ridiculous rules of engagement, it may work. But the instant someone goes squishy, the horde will enter and get rewarded with “free stuff.”

  4. Ronni – I don’t think the Founders – or lawmakers in 1866 – ever thought the amendment would transform from its original intent to open borders for everyone.

    RG – Such a shame, because I hear it’s a beautiful state.

TXNick – True. Put the Marines up front. They take less crap than others.
