Happy Star Wars Day

Today is May 4th, hence, it is Star Wars Day. (May the Fourth Be With You.) Sadly, I still feel like Alderaan, so this is my only post today.

Also, Peter Mayhew, the original Chewbacca, passed away this week at the age of 74. A terrible loss for Star Wars fans. The man was a giant, inside and out.

  1. RIP Peter Mayhew. It was fun while it lasted. : )

Now if only Lucas and Disney hadn’t screwed up the whole franchise! : (

  2. George Lucas screwed the pooch with the order of the movies. She should have followed the Marvel plan: build a franchise from the bottom up, not the middle out.

    R.I.P., Chewey. You’ll be missed.

  3. I am probably the only person on the planet who hasn’t seen the first three Star Wars movies.

  4. Tam – Absolutely true.

TXNick – I think Rian Johnson (the director) screwed it irreparably with The Last Jedi. I have no desire to see the next one, and coming from me, that’s something.

Mario – The original three from the 70’s-80’s? Wow.

    1. Yes. My older brother had a friend who went bat guano crazy for Star Wars after the first one came out. Turned me off to them.

      1. Fair enough. That’s partly the reason I stopped watching Marvel films. Everyone ranted about how awesome the were, even the lame films – looking at you Captain Marvel. I had enough.

    2. The last Star Wars movie I watched was The Force Awakens. No plans to see any other episodes in the future. And No, I didn’t see Solo.

Between, Lucas, Disney, their directors, and “stars,” it is difficult to tell just who trashed the franchise the most.
