Your Free Lunch Has Expired

President Trump has ordered ICE to reopen cases for DACA recipients meaning removals/deportations may begin as early as summer. Law and order is coming back to America in a big way, and if you’re not here legally, you’ll be jettisoned over the border.

While the decision is still technically hung up at the Supreme Court, DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) remains on track to come to an end. Absent some sort of comprehensive immigration bill making it through Congress, this seems to be a certainty at this point. This means that the previous protection from deportation afforded to program participants is also coming to a close and ICE has already begun the process of informing some of them that their cases are being reopened. Of course, most of this activity is still just in the paperwork stage right now, with no actual removals likely to take place until this summer at the earliest, assuming they are even prioritized for action at that time.

Zoila Pelayo, who has been a DACA participant since 2012, recently received notice that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has sought reopening of her removal proceedings. And this is just the beginning.

ICE [said] every DACA recipient whose deportation case was administratively closed can expect to see his or her proceeding reopened. (H/TAOSHQ)

Hopefully these proceedings will remove those who are here illegally, and make more room for those who are trying to emigrate here who are following the rules.

  1. This is good news. What happened to people assimilating to American rather than the US making numerous accommodations? They need to be able to speak, read and write in English. They need to know the Pledge of Allegiance. My friends who are legal immigrants are sick of tired of paying a boat load of money, and having spent hours and hours and hours of time and effort to become citizens to watch people climb over fences or cross rivers and get free handouts. Kudos, Mr. President.

  2. Ronni – My neighbor emigrated from Germany. It took her fourteen years to go through the process, without Welfare, without free crap, without anything but her will and her brain. But yes, put her aside so millions of Democratic voters are rushed through for all their free shit.
