Til Death Do Us Part?

A Texas man was arrested after he allegedly shot and killed his fiancee four days after he proposed.

A Texas man who proposed to his fiancée on New Year’s Eve has been arrested and charged with her murder just four days into their engagement.

Kendrick Akins allegedly shot Dominic Jefferson in the parking lot of her apartment complex close to midnight on Saturday night after witnesses say they engaged in an argument, according to ABC News’ Houston station KTRK.

A witness who saw the confrontation at the Holly View Apartments in Harris County, Texas, was also allegedly shot at when they ran to help Jefferson after she had been shot.

Now I have seen some despicable crimes in my day, but how does someone propose to a woman then murder her four days later? What the hell is wrong with people?

  1. Are people no longer being taught how to deal with various situations or information they have received that they may find troubling? At what point did we stop being able to have intelligent discussions with opposite views on the topics being brought up? Parents need to start from year one teaching their children about coping mechanisms. Just one more reason to stay a widow since I lost Jon. Too many nut jobs out there and I am definitely opinionated and would no doubt trigger them!

  2. Ronni – The culture is rotting from within. People think they can just do whatever they want or feel because there are few consequences. I never saw the rationale for killing a spouse when you can just divorce them. Stop acting like children!

  3. I wonder if the guy went to a fortune teller and saw the outcome of their divorce a few years down the road.

    Bad joke time:

A wedding is just a funeral where you smell your own flowers.

A lifelong bachelor is a guy who doesn’t make the same mistake once.

Marriage is a three ring circus: an engagement ring, a wedding ring, and the suffering.
