After nine months of lockdowns by Democrat-run states and cities, half of all black-owned small businesses have been forced to close their doors forever.
I would ask the proprietors this; do you still believe the Democratic Party has your best interests at heart?
Nearly half of Black small businesses had been wiped out by the end of April as the pandemic ravaged minority communities disproportionately, according to a report from the New York Fed.
Black-owned businesses were more than twice as likely to shutter as their white counterparts, the report found.
It took these municipal governments just a month or two to destroy these people’s businesses. Incredulously, the author of this piece blamed the closing on “institutional racism,” instead of malfeasance committed by local politicians.
“Nationally representative data on small businesses indicate that the number of active business owners fell by 22% from February to April 2020—the largest drop on record,” the report said.
“Black businesses experienced the most acute decline, with a 41% drop. Latinx business owners fell by 32% and Asian business owners dropped by 26%.” (H/T – AOSHQ)
Every one of these closings is a tragedy. Most of these leftist big-city mayors ordered the small businesses to close, while they gleefully allowed big businesses like Walmart, etc. to stay open. Where do these businesses owners go to get their businesses back? Where do they go to reclaim the American Dream?
“institutional racism,” No, they were most likely “under capitalized”. I was severely under capitalized when I bought my first house. But I had faith in myself and was determined to make it work. I imagine they did too.
Democrats are destroying the American dream.

Mike AKA Proof – The sad part is most of these owners will still vote Democrat. It happens here all the time.

Out here in Kahlifornia, outdoor dining is not allowed through the end of this month…unless you work in Hollowweird, then it’s OK (hell, one of them were allowed to dine outdoors right across the street from one of the places that was forced to close). Every last one of them should file a class action lawsuit against the state.

MelP – I saw the video the store owner put on social media. It’s disgusting. Her outdoor dining is exactly like the movie set, but the movie set is okay while she is closed down.
