A 28-year old man from Weatherly, Pennsylvania has been arrested after bringing a homemade explosive device into a Dollar Store. Apparently, he didn’t think the prices were low enough.
On May 1, Anthony Petrone was found to have a “large homemade explosive device” in his backpack in a Dollar Store, police said. The Pennsylvania State Police Hazardous Device and Explosives Section was called in and safely removed the device, borough police said.
The borough had been “plagued with random explosions,” a news release said, and, after the initial contact with Petrone, led to state and borough police serving the warrant in the 300 block of First Street.
Petrone was arraigned before District Judge Joseph D. Homanko Sr. on charges of possession of a weapon of mass destruction, risking a catastrophe, recklessly endangering another person and two more weapons counts.
One wonders if this was payback for the Tennessee woman who tried to cash a million dollar bill at the Dollar General last month?
