Texas Governor Greg Abbott is working on a plan to build a border wall in Texas to stop the flow of illegal immigrants. I’ve had my problems with Abbott, but if he gets this done, he will have redeemed himself in my eyes.
During a border security summit in the US border city of Del Rio, Republican Governor Greg Abbott said he will soon reveal a plan for Texas to construct its own border wall.
“I will announce next week the plan for the state of Texas to begin building the border wall in the state of Texas. The border crisis is no laughing matter. It’s not a tourism site for members of Congress to visit and then return to DC and do nothing.”
Abbott’s announcement comes as border towns and cities in Texas struggle with the fallout of of Biden administration policies encouraging massive amounts of illegal migrants to flood into the US. “One thing we know and that is a border crisis is plaguing the farmers, the ranchers, the residents of the entire border region. Your law enforcement officers, they are having to redirect their resources to deal with the border as opposed to deal what they normally deal with which is keeping your communities safe every day.”
If, and that’s a big if, Abbott can make this happen, it might push other governors in Arizona, New Mexico to do the same. Why would you trust the government to build a wall after they have promised to do so for decades? It’s your state. Secure it.
That will irritate the libtard astinites. They deserve to be irritated.

Austin should secede from Texas and the Union.

Gov. Abbot is a bit worried these days. A LOT of Texans have expressed their intent to vote against him next primary. Including me. At a local Republican meet-up. And I got a LOT of applause.
He will either sign, or let become law without his signature, the Constitutional Carry bill in the next few days. Lately he has been trying to play nice with us, in hopes we forget about him jumping on board with the Wu-W.H.O.-Kung-Flu Nazis and doing mask mandates, (anti-) social distancing, shutting down businesses, etc. Sorry… not sorry. I will vote against him in the primary. If he does squeak by and get renominated, I will vote against the democrat candidate.
This elephant has a long memory.

TXNick – It’s a shame, because his first two years were pretty good. Then he went off the deep end to cater to… I guess Austin?

Why is it that capital cities have a habit of changing good solid conservatives into weak spined Romneys?

Gary – I wish I knew. I like DeSantis, but every other Republican – sans for Trump and Rand Paul, recently – has turned out to be an awful squish. I expect DeSantis to turn on conservatism, too.
