While there will be posts today and tomorrow, I will likely be scarce during the weekend. You see, for the first time in I don’t know how long, the boys and I are going to Pocono Raceway for a doubleheader NASCAR race. We would have brought the entire clan, but Julia has her second recital this evening.
(It’s okay, we’re taking the entire family to New Hampshire Motor Speedway in July.)
Despite some of the wokeness creeping into NASCAR, the kids and I still really enjoy racing, and when we realized we could snag some tickets, it was a no-brainer. It’s a two-hour ride to the track in the northern part of PA, and there is a Truck Series race at noon, and the Cup race at 3pm. It’ll be a long day, but it will also be Kevin’s first race. We’re in the second row, so it’ll certainly be loud enough.
I’ll have posts up for the weekend, and I’ll try to comment if I get a chance.
It was a very long day, with two pretty good races. Here’s the view from our seats. Turn up the volume.
Enjoy! Pocono is one of my favorite tracks.

Have fun. Hopefully Larson gets another win. He is turning into Jeff Gordon.

Sounds great. Don’t forget to eat something that’s bad for you!

I once fell asleep at Bristol during a secondary race before the main Race on a Sunday was 21 rows from the track and woke up AFTER the crash that took out half the field…..oops

Rudy – We were in the second row, so we couldn’t see the far side of the track. Didn’t matter, though, because we were so close, you could feel the wind as the drivers roared past us.
Cathy – Julia is looking forward to new Hampshire, where we’re going in mid-July. It’ll be her first race.
Ingineer – Almost. Hit the wall with one lap left. Alex Bowman won, and Kyle Busch finished second. That’s Kyle’s favorite driver. Erik’s is Hamlin, and Kevin’s is Keselowski.
Mike AKA Proof – We were having such a good time that no one really ate actual food. Erik got a slice of pizza, but me, Kyle, and Kevin subsisted on crackers, cookies, and water/Gatorade.
Gary – That’s one of my dream tracks. I’ve been to Pocono, Dover, Richmond, and Daytona. We’ll be seeing New Hampshire next month.

I once went to the Daytona 500. It was drunk rednecks and long lines to take a leak. Lest we forget the overpriced concessions.

The track is amazing. The town is full of white trash.
