Some big things are happening in the city of Philadelphia. Mask mandates are back – despite the fact no one wore them during Monday’s Sixers game – shootings are skyrocketing, and the Philadelphia Police Department hired a Chief Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Officer. Hurrah!
The following is from an email sent by the “police commissioner.”
Hello everyone,
I’m excited to announce that the newest member of our Executive Team, Leslie Marant will be joining the Philadelphia Police Department in a historic appointment as our first Chief Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Officer. In steadfast commitment to our goal of organizational excellence, this position and office have been established to oversee diversity and inclusion efforts at every level of our organization.
One would think we would be more concerned about our 141 homicides.
Ms. Marant will be responsible for overall organizational development and implementation of the Department’s Equity and Inclusion programs, strategic framework, and work/life policies and programs. She will also provide guidance and operational assistance in the development of enterprise strategies for diversity, equity, and inclusion, including governance structure, policies, procedures, metrics, benchmarks, action plans, and processes to effectively support leadership.
So in other words, this position is simply a money grab for one of our corrupt politician’s cronies. At least the department’s priorities are in order, and it will be money terribly spent.
The Philly citizens keep voting demoncraps into office, so expect more of these crony jobs to be created.

Getting real tired of having “equity & diversity” constantly being thrown at me. These programs are as worthless as blm & climate change. Good for the algores but not for the workers.

Cathy – The department is already unbelievably diverse. Whites, blacks, Asians, Hispanics. There is no problem with diversity, but there is a problem with the upper echelon bosses.

Ever wonder where all those children with “Humanities Degrees” and womyn’s studies go to work? In the “Human Resources*” departments of major companies. The infestation of these departments gives us “Diversity Training” courses, read waste of time, for all new hires and “refresher” courses every year. Wokesters in these departments sit around all day, dreaming up more indoctrination for the peons.
And corporate management wonder why productivity is down and resignations due to frustration is up.
*Whatever happened to the Personnel Department?

Mark – In our case, this is the chance to pass over whites for promotions. They practically said it out loud. Merit doesn’t count, but your pigment certainly does.

Wyatt, they’ll call it “progress” & “the new normal”. College degrees are worth more than actual experience & knowledge gained from experience. I’ve found that the majority of people with degrees don’t know their a$$ from a hole in the ground even after people out there show them the hole.

Mike AKA Proof – The department is claiming they may make 30 detectives soon. Every division is really shorthanded, so thirty will do nothing to help. They are promoting a ton of sergeants and lieutenants, though…
