Happy New Year!

Happy 2019, everyone! It’s a new day and a new year. Personally, I hope 2018 burns in Hell, as it was arguably the worst year of my life, with the possible exception of 2013. Between the heart monitor, the prostate cancer scare, and my mother’s memory issues, this has been an awful, awful 365 days.

Now that’s all behind us, and we can look forward to bigger and better things. (None of which should be our waistlines.) On that front, I had a decent year. According to Map My Walk, I participated in 72 workouts, traveling 546 km (339 miles). Probably would have been better if I hadn’t had all the health issues. I intend to smash those numbers this year, and will hopefully hit the pavement today.

The blog is running smoothly. We’re averaging about 100,000 visits a year, which is fine. I’m too old to blog as often as I used to, and there are so many other things going on to blog as often as the big guys.

In short, I’m moderately happy. While the stress is still prevalent, the depression subsided, and even though there are days I want to ignore this place, I still blog for the joy of it all.

I want to wish you all a happy, healthy, and safe 2019. We’re all getting older, but that doesn’t mean we have to slow down. Treat every day as a gift from God.
