Fiddling While Philadelphia Dies

Jim Kenney, arguably the worst mayor in Philadelphia’s 340 year history, has run into a snag with his ridiculously unconstitutional vaccine mandates. Kenney, a fascist drunk who can barely spell the word Philadelphia, just realized he cannot order a mandate without entering arbitration with the city’s unions. You’d think a career politician would know that.

The City of Philadelphia announced the following updates as it continues to work to implement its workforce vaccine mandate previously announced in November 2021.

While the City issued a vaccination mandate for all employees—those represented by unions and those unrepresented (exempt)—it is important to understand that legally the City must negotiate the impact of this new requirement with its labor union partners: the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), AFSCME District Council 33 (DC 33), AFSCME District Council 47 (DC 47), and Local 22 (Firefighters) before it officially goes into effect for employees represented by those unions.

Hmm, I remember being forced to work through the Chinese Wuhan Virus in 2020, without masks, and without any other protection. We were “essential,” you see, and while teachers and other city employees were allowed to work from home, we did not have that option. One year later, we were told get the jab or lose your job. Funny how we went from heroes to unpersons.

The first union to agree to the mandate was DC 33 and the City reached an agreement with DC 47 on January 14. One of the conditions in the City’s agreements with DC 33 and DC 47 is that any eventual deal with the other labor unions that includes more favorable terms must automatically be extended to their members—including any change to the City’s initial January 14 deadline (to either get a first dose of vaccine or submit an exemption request).

If I’m going to be completely honest, Philadelphia’s Fraternal Order of Police is, mostly, a completely useless organization. That said, I was surprised they fought the mayor on this issue, because they usually roll over for the Democrats.

Due to this and based on pending agreements and discussions with the City’s unions, until a full award from the interest arbitration panel governing the FOP contract is issued, the City is issuing a temporary stay on placing any represented employee on leave. The City expects the final award by the arbitration panel to be announced in the coming weeks. The City will continue to assess the impact of these awards on the agreements with the remaining labor unions.

Philadelphia earned 562 homicides last year, and ninety-one carjackings in the first thirteen days of 2022. Violence in this city is out of control, but this jackass wants to place police officers, firefighters, and other essential personnel on leave because they won’t take the jab? S-M-R-T.

True Detective Stories

Today begins my mystical journey at work. Yesterday, the drunken jackass mayor of Philadelphia implemented mandatory vaccinations for all city employees. If they refuse – or, resist – those employees will be forced to wear two masks at all time while working. Said employees will also be forced to take random Covid tests at the city’s whim.

I’m fully prepared for this ridiculous order, and I will gladly wear two masks, because 1. I have already had Covid, and 2. I have no desire to get a vaccine while I still have antibodies.

I am looking forward to the first time I have to answer the phone, or need to page someone in the office. With two masks on my face, I sincerely doubt anyone will understand me. Honestly, that’s fine by me.

Oh, in case you haven’t seen it, New York Magazine – yes New York Magazine!wrote an article claiming masks mostly don’t work, and especially so for children. The study was done by the CDC, but hey, let’s pretend masks work, even though I caught Covid from work while wearing a mask.

Fascism Is Alive And Well

The City of Philadelphia is effectively forcing the Chinese Wuhan Virus vaccine on all its employees, and employees need to be vaccinated before September 1st.

Good luck with that, since it takes three weeks to get the second shot.

As of September 1, 2021, all City employees will be required to provide proof that they’ve completed their schedule of COVID-19 vaccinations.

Papers, please! Imagine a city believing they can force a vaccine on its employees, whether they like it or not. A vaccine where we don’t know the side effects, or the long-lasting issues. It’s fascism, straight up.

Employees may provide a copy of their official vaccination card or other appropriate medical documentation – this can be uploaded in OnePhilly through Employee Self-Service or presented to the employee’s HR manager by this date.

How about I tell you I’m vaccinated after I am forced to get the shot, and you nod your head in agreement. The best part is the city will force Draconian measures against you if you do not get the vaccine. For instance, you would have to wear a surgical mask and a cloth mask at all times. You would also be subject to Covid testing any time the city decides it’s your turn.

Oh, and if you’re vaccinated, you still have to wear a mask, because this city is run by morons.

Starting today, in public areas of City buildings, all City employees and members of the public will be required to wear a mask regardless of vaccination status. This is consistent with the City’s new mask mandate which states that masks are required to be worn indoors unless proof of vaccination is required for entry.

The proof of vaccination mandate is the most hysterical part of this nonsense. If I walk into a business which demands I show my papers, I fully intend to turn around, walk out, and never come back. This mayor is a POS, but for the time being I have to follow his idiotic mandates. I do not have to kneel before some businessman.

Finally, for those reading who think I’m being foolish for not getting the vaccine, I survived Covid once, and I can survive it again. This is still America – for the time being – and we still have our freedoms. Also, for those who think I should just quit, no chance. I’m staying to the last day, because I’m not giving back one red cent to this godawful city and its corrupt politicians.
