The Obama administration secretly funneled $400 million to Iran immediately before the terror state released four American hostages.
The Obama administration secretly organized an airlift of $400 million worth of cash to Iran that coincided with the January release of four Americans detained in Tehran, according to U.S. and European officials and congressional staff briefed on the operation afterward.
Wooden pallets stacked with euros, Swiss francs and other currencies were flown into Iran on an unmarked cargo plane. The U.S. procured the money from the central banks of the Netherlands and Switzerland.
So this despicable piece of detritus posing as a president not only guaranteed Iran nuclear arms, but also threw in a $400 million ransom for our citizens. People throw around the word “treason” with impunity anymore, but I believe it applies here.
“With the nuclear deal done, prisoners released, the time was right to resolve this dispute as well,” President Barack Obama said at the White House on Jan. 17—without disclosing the $400 million cash payment.
Senior U.S. officials denied any link between the payment and the prisoner exchange. They say the way the various strands came together simultaneously was coincidental, not the result of any quid pro quo.
Oh sure, it was only a co-inky-dink. We believe them, right guys?
A congressman claims the Obama administration is purposely suppressing the details of Iran’s capture of American sailors, suggesting the sailors were treated more harshly than we were led to believe.
Rep. Randy Forbes (R., Va.) told the Free Beacon the Obama administration is still keeping details of the maritime incident under wraps. It could be a year or longer before the American public receives a full accounting of the incident, in which several U.S. sailors were abducted at gunpoint by the Iranian military.
Forbes suggested that Iran’s treatment of the U.S. sailors—which included filming them crying and forcing them to apologize at gunpoint—may have been much worse than what has been publicly reported.
Forbes is pushing a new measure that would increase sanctions on Tehran for its treatment of the U.S. sailors in order to hold Iran accountable for its aggressive behavior. (H/T – AOSHQ)
The Navy has already sacked the sailors’ commander, so covering up the details is not a surprising move. I do find it interesting Obama wanted the Iran nuclear deal so badly, he not only caved on every issue, but – possibly – allowed Iran to harm our captured sailors.
Iranian forces captured two American ships and took ten sailors hostage yesterday, after claiming both ships suffered engine malfunctions and strayed into Iranian waters. Wow, what a co-inky dink.
The Islamic Republic of Iran seized two U.S. Navy vessels while they were navigating the Persian Gulf on Tuesday, detaining the ships and ten American sailors near Iran’s Farsi Island, the Pentagon said. Farsi Island is home to an Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) military base.
It’s funny; I’m old enough to remember when confiscating ships and taking Americans hostage was considered an act of war.
Iran’s state-controlled Fars New Agency reported that one of the 10 sailors who have been detained is a woman. They also noted in their article that each of the boats is equipped with three 50 caliber machine guns. The IRGC has also confiscated GPS equipment from the vessels.
Iran media says Revolutionary Guard navy confiscated GPS equipment belonging to 10 US sailors it has arrested, “our border was crossed.”
Secretary of State John Kerry has called Tehran hoping to secure the sailors’ immediate release, which state Iran has agreed to let them go “within hours.”
Yeah, Iran eventually released the hostages; more than twelve hours after their capture. I did not waste my time watching the “president’s” State of the Union Address last night, but I read he never mentioned this incident. Not once. He did, however, dare to actually say this out loud:
“I told you earlier all the talk of America’s economic decline is political hot air. Well, so is all the rhetoric you hear about our enemies getting stronger and America getting weaker… No nation dares to attack us or our allies because they know that’s the path to ruin.”
Apparently Barry is hitting the choom again.
