John Donohue, the CEO of the radically pro-Chinese Nike corporation, bent the knee last week, claiming they are a Chinese brand working almost solely for China. At least Donohue is honest.
Nike CEO John Donahoe rushed to reassure China’s communist rulers that his sportswear company is all about working with them, saying that, “Nike is a brand that is of China and for China.”
Donohue is apparently also all for ignoring China’s human rights atrocities.
According to the BBC, Donahoe told analysts that the recent report showed revenues doubled to $12.3 billion, beating expectations. The revenue helped push Nike to a $1.5 billion profit compared to the $790 million loss the sports apparel giant suffered at end of 2020.
Donahoe also reported that revenue in China alone had risen to $1.9 billion, though that missed the expected $2.2 billion.
Donahoe insisted that China was a vital part of Nike’s customer base. “We’ve always taken a long-term view. We’ve been in China for over 40 years,” Donahoe said, adding that Nike co-founder Phil Knight “invested significant time and energy in China in the early days, and today we’re the largest sport brand there.”
Now, after everything we know about the ChiComs, it amazes me how Americans will still rush to the store to buy Nike products. Still a free country, obviously, but why would you purposefully purchase sweatshop products?
Before we begin, I purposefully ignored the Andrew McCabe story – short version: the DOJ is refusing to charge him for his crimes – because the decision would angry up the blood.
Yes, the Lord taketh away, but He also giveth. Take creepy pron lawyer Michael Avenatti, for instance.
A jury found celebrity lawyer Michael Avenatti guilty Friday on all three charges he faced in relation to his scheme to extort over $20 million from sportswear and apparel giant Nike.
Avenatti was charged with threatening he would stage a news conference exposing its efforts to corrupt college basketball unless it paid him between $15 and $25 million to conduct an internal investigation into his claims.
It’s ironic I’m posting this on President’s Day, since the leftist jackasses at CNN were actively touting Avenatti as the Democratic candidate who could beat President Trump.
The good news is Avenatti is facing more charges for other crimes.
Avenatti’s legal woes are far from over. He faces a trial in New York over charges that he stole $300,000 in book proceeds from his former client [Stormy] Daniels and another trial in California that he swindled settlement funds from a client.
Avenatti, 49, is looking at fifty years for the Nike extortion. If you look at, say, ten years for the other thefts, it’s likely the creepy porn lawyer will spend the rest of his miserable life in prison.
Washed-up, has-been, America-hating “quarterback” Colin Kaepernick is in the news again; this time he forced Nike to pull an American-themed shoe from stores.
How and why would Nike listen to this clown?
Nike is recalling an American flag-themed sneaker after former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick complained that it harkened back to the slave era, The Wall Street Journal is reporting.
Nike had already delivered the Air Max 1 USA sneakers to stores when Kaepernick, a Nike endorser, complained about a Revolutionary War-era version of the flag stitched on the back of the shoe.
The flag, designed by Betsy Ross, has 13 stars in a circle with 13 red and white stripes to represent the original colonies. A Nike spokeswoman confirmed to The Journal that the shoes were pulled from shelves because of the flag.
I haven’t purchased a Nike product since Kaepernick wore those Pig Police socks. I wear Under Armor sneakers now, and I will never spend another dime on Nike. Ever. Embrace your boy, Nike, because the rest of us think he’s a POS.
UPDATE: Arizona Governor Doug Ducey pledged he will withdraw all financial incentives for Nike’s proposed new plant in Goodyear, Arizona. Good for him. F**K Nike.
