A despicable, cowardly Islamic terrorist mowed down dozens of people on a New York City bike path with a rental truck yesterday. Eight victims are confirmed dead, with dozens injured.
At least eight people were killed and nearly a dozen more were injured when a truck driver deliberately mowed down people and targeted a school bus in lower Manhattan Tuesday in what authorities called a “cowardly act of terror.”
For the record, the NYPD took its sweet time declaring this a terror incident; a practice which has come into vogue for most metropolitan police departments. They would rather be wrong than offend the p.c. crowd.
A 29-year-old Uzbek national who may have been living in New Jersey, Sayfullo Saipov, drove a Home Depot rental pickup truck at least 10 blocks down the popular West Side Highway bike path from West Houston to Chambers streets, hitting nearly a dozen pedestrians and bicyclists before crashing into a school bus near Stuyvesant High School and elementary school P.S. 89, just a few blocks north of the World Trade Center.
The crash into the school bus appeared to be deliberate; witnesses told police they saw the driver swerve the truck to target the bus, which was carrying children. They said the driver then screamed “Allahu Akbar” in the truck, then emerged carrying what turned out to be two fake guns — a pellet gun and a paint gun — and started running around before he was confronted by a nearby uniformed officer on patrol, who shot him in the abdomen.
Kyle keeps asking me to take him to a New York Rangers game. MSG is a great place to watch hockey, but honestly, New York City is a war zone now. Maybe I’ll take him when they elect a mayor who doesn’t coddle terrorists.
According to the NYPD, Saipov left a note claiming he committed the murders for ISIS; a fact which the crack journalists at CNN will report immediately. Or not. Whatevs.
