A Burr In Their Saddle

Senate Richard Burr of the Senate Intelligence Committee – there’s a contradiction in terms – is about to give the Democrats a delightful Valentine’s Day present. The package is said to contain misery with a side order of bupkis.

After more than two years of investigation, the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence has not found evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russian government, the committee’s Republican chairman said in interview.

Two-plus years and untold millions of dollars, wasted. Congratulations on a job… done.

“If we write a report based upon the facts that we have, then we don’t have anything that would suggest there was collusion by the Trump campaign and Russia,” North Carolina Sen. Richard Burr told CBS News.

Yeah, half the country has been telling you this for more than two years, but you douche canoes didn’t listen. There’s a lot of that going around Washington, D.C. these days.

“If I can finish tomorrow, I would finish tomorrow,” said Burr, adding, “We know we’re getting to the bottom of the barrel because there’re not new questions that we’re searching for answers to.” (H/TAOSHQ)

Then why can’t you finish tomorrow, Dick? You have zero evidence after two years; do you really believe something pertinent will pop up now?

Has The Stupid Party Smartened Up?

In a move more shocking than CNN’s rampant dishonesty, the GOP appears to have found their backbone. Of course, they found it in a pawn shop, but if this story is true, they may actually pay to both retrieve, and install, their collective spines.

Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee are seizing on Comey’s testimony earlier this month that he was concerned over the former attorney general telling the FBI to refer to the Clinton investigation as a “matter,” which resembled the Clinton campaign line.

The move could allow Republicans to attempt to pivot away from the investigation into Russia’s election meddling and focus on Lynch, who has long been a target of Republicans.

“Well, I kind of would like to get the whole thing behind us, but she should be interrogated [by a committee] because there’s some real questions about whether her actions were proper,” Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) said.

Wow, when Senator Orrin “Squish” Hatch is taking his balls out of his purse, there is definitely reason for cautious optimism.

Comey The Clown

Former FBI director James Comey testified in front on the Senate Intelligence Committee, and the testimony revealed more about Comey’s actions – or inaction – than it did about President Trump.

Fired FBI Director James Comey testified in front of the Senate Intelligence Committee about his interactions with President Trump as they relate to the government’s Russia probe — and there’s been some significant revelations thus far:

After his firing and this Trump tweet, Comey asked a close friend of his — Columbia law professor Daniel Richman — to leak the content of his memos to the media with the hope of triggering the appointment of a special counsel.

This son of a bitch ignored congress’ continuous requests for his memos but leaked them so a special counsel would be appointed. Why is the DoJ not initiating a criminal investigation?

Regarding the Department of Justice’s push to tone down the rhetoric surrounding the Clinton email investigation, Comey said, “The attorney general was looking to align campaign language with our language, which… gave me a queasy feeling.”

So, to recap, this Stalinist show trial revealed nothing improper with President Trump’s actions, but exposed Comey as a leaker, and Loretta Lynch colluded with Comey and Bill Clinton to make Hillary Clinton’s email investigation disappear. Well done, Democrats. Well done.
